Founded in 2015, CONNECKS embodies two words: Connection and Leatherneck. In CONNECKS field days, WIU student athletes and individuals with special needs bond over various sports with skills, drills, and games in order for participants to develop connections and become apart of our Leatherneck family. It is our mission that participants connect and form a unique bond with an athlete via sports and the Leatherneck spirit.

Founder, Victoria Kappel created CONNECKS based on two thriving passions: helping individuals with special needs and sports. CONNECKS is not only an organization but a dream come true for Kappel, WIU student athletes, and participants with special needs. Further enhancing the success of the organization are WIU student athletes: Tyler Mahnke, Kyle Coale, and Connor Sampson.
